What Is Constructionline?

Constructionline is an assessment scheme for consultants, contractors, and material suppliers to the UK’s construction industry. Buyers use this platform to seek companies that can demonstrate their compliance across a range of business compliance issues. Constructionline is used by more than 2,000 buyers, including local authorities, main contractors, and the central government, and there are about 46,000 suppliers on the register.

Constructionline is based on the document Construction Pre-Qualification Questions, also known as PAS91 Common Assessment Standard, with the purpose that holding Constructionline qualification allows suppliers to avoid lengthy and repetitive pre-qualification questionnaires for different customers. This way, everyone can save time and money.

Becoming Constructionline Accredited

There are four levels of accreditation, the Associate (Entry Level), Silver (Level 2), Gold (Level 3), and Platinum (Level 4), most accept Silver but larger Principal Contractors are increasingly asking for Gold.

The Constructionline questions include question on financial information, insurance, health & Safety, environmental management, quality, BIM, and corporate social responsibility. If you hold a SSIP H&S certificate like CHAS, SafeContractor etc you pre-qualify for the H&S section, but if you don’t have these you can go for Constructionline’s own H&S assessment which is called Acclaim.
