Freyr Case Study

Freyr Solutions is the largest, global, Regulatory solutions and services company that offers end-to-end Regulatory solutions to life sciences industries.

In May of last year, we commenced our GDPR client engagement with Freyr, This was to undertake GDPR compliance and to provide Data Protection Officer (DPO) as a service. We started by looking to understand the business in terms of its history, cultural values and current modes of operation and document how personal data flowed into and out of the company.

Of course, as always, we formed good working relationships with the key stakeholders and built rapport. This is a critical part of our client engagement.

We first produced a Gap Analysis, based upon a measurement of the current level of compliance and to assess the data protection and information security controls in place, set against the Information Commissioners Office (ICO)’s standard, known as the Accountability Framework.

During our 12 months engagement, we moved on from the Gap Analysis to ensure the necessary compliance. This included providing policies, procedures, undertaking training and awareness, producing the data mapping, conducting the personal data risk analysis, and checking of all relevant contracts.

In the provision of our services, we also provided quick and responsive turnaround to several requests. This included giving guidance and training where required. We also assisted with helping Freyr to engage with prospective customers who were undertaking due diligence and required evidence of data protection and information security compliance and controls. We fully understand the commercial aspects of compliance and how this can be a business benefit.

We also ensured that the company met all its Privacy Electronic Communications Regulation (PECR) compliance requirements so as to ensure that it’s marketing was all above board.
